Launch of new website for Cape Clear Ferries

Cailin Óir Ferry services are delighted to launch its new website which makes use of the url www.capeclearferries.com  which was previously used for many years by the Schull service operated by the Molloy family. The new site has been developed as a generic site showing the timetables for the different services operated by us in a simplified and straightforward fashion. It is conceived as an uncluttered format without any links, blogs etc. and will complement the existing websites which will continue to operate as before. We have used this opportunity instead,  to do something new which is to promote  some of the many activities that can be enjoyed on the Island , in the Bay or  the twin ports of Baltimore and Schull in our specially designed slider ’50 Things to do’. We hope that this will support the various other service providers in these areas who provide activities that can be accessed through our different ferry services and assist prospective visitors to  discover  the many family friendly recreational possibilities.  Some of these also show how different activities can be combined to create fun and adventure. There are still some imperfections in the site which we will iron out in the course of the winter and look forward to consrtructive comments and suggestions for improvements. When we are happy that the site has been fully tested in practise we will develop a second version as Gaeilge.

We should like to thank Julian Lucioli and Fiachra Ó Tóirne for their combine efforts to develop this new site and to remind other prospective clients of the obvious quality of the work of this Island based web design team. We are now working towards our second goal this winter with regard to online services which is to develop an improved online shop to better market the many excellent books/publications relating to the Island and thereby to encourage their readers to visit us afterwards.

We apologise in advance to any suitable activity provider that would like to be but who has not been included and are happy to do this if the relevant details are provided to us, ideally together with a suitable digital image. There is no reason which this should not grow to 55 or 60 or even 100 things to do!. However since we retain full editorial control over the site the final decision as to ‘suitability’ remains with us.
