In recent weeks signification progress has been made towards the re-instatement of the slip, this time commencing  with the sidewall which shall be largely completed before the slip itself is finally laid. As the photos show the reinforcing is of a very high standard and some of the uprights will later be bent and meshed into the slip itself so that the entire structure will be extremely secure. Estimated time to the completion of the slip is seven weeks approx, but of course if bad weather intervenes to delay this a little we shall not be too perturbed. The ro ro has made a number of visits recently with some hundreds of tons of material stockpiled on what continues to be a well ordered working site. Our own regular ferry service is also being called upon for regular transporting of small but nevertheless significant  quantities of materials and equipment with a special sailing today to bring in shuttering.
