We should like to wish all our customers a very happy new year and we look forward to seeing many friends of Cape Clear from near and far back on the Island during the course of 2018.  It looks like being an exciting year already with our fabulous new marina, plans for various complimentary facilities in the pipeline, good work in establishing Cape Clear Trust on a sound footing to keep our fabulous walks open to all, a new state of the art water network, other ongoing improvements in the main harbour and last, but not least some good work done in recent days to rebuild the storm damaged hostel walls towards getting this great facility open and running again.

The rough always comes with the smooth and no better place than our beautiful but exposed Island to experience nature in all its different moods. Last Thursday night brought us torrential rains and ferocious lightning and we awoke to see some substantial erosion of some of our roads, not yet fully restored after the pipelaying. We hope that the necessary remedial works are carried out as soon as possible and we look forward to the substantial resurfacing program which is scheduled for later in the spring when the weather improves. This will, we hope show the Island at its pristine best when we see most of our friends and visitors again.
